This is interesting. I glanced at this because of the unusual Dan Decarlo cover that portrays a totally different version of the character that you usually see (and no much like what was inside.) But I was really shocked to see the book has two indicia. On the inside front cover, it has "MIGHTY ATOM Nov. 1957, Vol. 1 No. 1. Published quarterly by Sussex Publishing Co. Inc ..." and on the first page it has "The Adventures of THE PIXIES Vol. 1 No. 4 Published quarterly by Magazine Enterprises..." |

Hi -- I'm here from 9 years in your future. A copy of ME's Mighty Atom No. 1 on eBay clearly shows only the single (Sussex) indicia on the IFC. This must mean that the interior is from a later reprint as The Adventures of the Pixies No. 4, which essentially reprinted Mighty Atom No. 1. It also explains why the panel on Page 15 is missing when it should be present in the original. So, right cover, wrong comic. |
