Mavis is engaged to Ed, city editor at a newspaper. She gets a job as a cub reporter so she can understand his devotion to his work. Her inexperience causes her to inadvertently derail Ed’s plan to learn where a gangster has hidden his loot, but Mavis makes up for it by locating the money herself. She then resigns her job to devote herself to marriage. |

A hurricane approaches and Dan offers Sally and her father shelter at his house. Dan’s little sister Pat contracts appendicitis and requires an operation but the hospital can’t be reached. Sally has the carnival workers bring a generator to the McKay house so the doctor can operate. Dan’s father changes his opinion and Dan proposes marriage to Sally. |
