This series (Dr. Drew) started with issue #47 and ran for 14 issues, IMHO. Only 2 or 3 are represented here, so if any one has other Drew issues of Ranger (#s47 to 54, approx.) puh-LEASE upload um!!! These are beauts--great examples of what can be done in the comics medium. Sure, he's ripping off Eisner, but he does it very well and personalizes the work--nuts, every great comics artist is ripping off SOMEONE. Frazetta started out imitating Foster. I haven't heard anyone complain about the work in White Indian or Dan Brand or whatever the books were called (check them out! They are great and available HERE!)
Good story telling, great use of the medium--classic work and so underrated--come see Dr. Drew! |

I agree, the Dr. Drew comics are great! Grandenetti was actually working for Eisner at the time, inking Spirit comics and what not, he was instructed to do the Dr. Drew stories in the "Eisner Style", which, I think he accomplished admirably. Thanks for the scans! |
