Comment: Charles Schulz drew backgrounds. Reportedly, it is his first published work in comic books. Without knowing it at the time, I bought the Windy City Pedigree copy at a local store. My version has a 10 cent price at the top in a red circle.

Notes: On sale date from the publication date reported to the U.S. Copyright Office found in the Catalog of Copyright Entries, Third Series, Volume 1, Part 1B, Number 2, Pamphlets, Serials and Contributions to Periodicals, July-December 1947. Copyright registration number AA68361. Three thousand (3,000) advance copies were sent to the leading clergy and lay readers in August 1947. The book was revised based on the comments received. Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune, page 30 (Aug 24, 1947). Roman Baltes served as art director. In 1987 he wrote that he had hired Charles Schulz.
