Bob and Tim greet the Captain and Helen to his drug store, where Melrose talks of his ruby ring, which Helen will one day receive. The Captain states that there is a powerful spell on the ring, and anyone who wears the ring without his consent and wishes him harm will be destroyed!
Bob lends the money needed as an entrance fee for a horse owned by the Bradley's, but the Bradley's no good brother threatens them. When the father (a jockey) dies while riding the horse, the Terror Twins smell a rat when Flush uses the situation to try and take over the nag and put Jerry into an orphanage.
Bob and Tim go to Maine to see an old friend, Chief Halsey, because they had heard that there was a haunted house in the area. When the Chief tells them that several bank robberies have occurred in the area, the Terror Twins decide to visit the haunted house.
Yvette's stepbrother and stepfather are holding her and Andre in an isolated cabin on the bayou, as they try to convince the young woman to sign away her inheritance to her late father's estate to save Andre's life.
